MARSHALL COUNTY HEALTH TO OFFER DRIVE THROUGH THIRD DOSE VACCINE CLINIC TO IMMUNOCOMPROMISED INDIVIDUALS

Moundsville, WV – The Marshall County Health Department will be hosting a drive through vaccination event for those individuals diagnosed as immunocompromised by their treating physician.  This clinic will be held on August 25, 2021 from 9:00am – 1:00pm at the Marshall County Fairgrounds.  

·       This clinic is being held in a drive through format so those with immunocompromised conditions do not have to enter another building potentially exposing them to one of the strains of this virus. 

·       Everyone must bring identification and proof of their previous vaccinations for COVID-19. 

·       If you do not have your vaccination card, or copy of your card, you will not be able to receive the additional dose of vaccine this day.  If you have lost your card, you will need to obtain a replacement prior to this day.

·       No appointments needed and vaccine will be provided on a first come, first served basis until all available doses are administered.

·       Age restrictions remain the same as the first two doses, individuals 12 and above receiving Pfizer and 18 and above receiving Moderna with 28 days since receiving their 2nd dose of the vaccine.

 

The list of eligible people includes:

·       Active treatment for solid tumor and hematologic malignancies

·       Receipt of solid-organ transplant and taking immunosuppressive therapy

·       Receipt of CAR-T-cell or hematopoietic stem cell transplant (within 2 years of transplantation or taking

immunosuppression therapy)

·       Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (e.g., DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)

·       Advanced or untreated HIV infection

·       Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids (i.e., ≥20mg prednisone or equivalent per day), alkylating agents, antimetabolites, transplant-related immunosuppressive drugs, cancer chemotherapeutic agents classified as severely immunosuppressive, tumor-necrosis (TNF) blockers, and other biologic agents that are immunosuppressive or immunomodulatory
